jags software package provides Just Another Gibbs Sampler for Bayesian MCMC - binary, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install jags
jags is installed in your system.
Make ensure the jags package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep jags *
You will get with jags package name, version, architecture and description in a table
